# Ad shortcode doesn’t work

 * Hello, I’ve installed your plugin today having deleted another plugin that was
   less clear. I want each advert to be an image that links to a Clickbank URL, 
   ideally with some text above or below.
 * I’ve created twos ads and a group to rotate them. It’s given me the shortcodes
   but how do I get the shortcodes to work? I put the shortcodes in a widget but
   all it shows is the code itself, never the ad.

 * thanks for reaching out.
 * I checked back your website and wasn’t able to see not working Advanced Ads shortcodes
   but others e.g. from your youtube videos which weren’t working either.
 * To place your ads I recommend another approach using placement instead of shortcodes.
   [Please create a sidebar widget placement](https://wpadvancedads.com/manual/ad-widget/),
   assign your group to it, and use the Advanced Ads widget in your widget overview
   to assign the placement to your sidebar.
