ad management

I’m considering using WP for the 1st time. I want to be able to post ads on my site. Not on the post pages. But on separate pages by category. I want to know
1)do I need a program for this or can i just paste info (html, plain links) submitted to me by advertisers. I will be working directly with advertisers not using a middleman.
2) I would like for payment to be automatic, for ad’r’s to see their stats, and upload their own ads if they choose. Is there a good program that makes this possible?
I’m horribly non-technical but willing to learn. Thanks for any advice.
