Ad blocker countermeasures – constantly popping up when enabled

    Hi, the new ad blocker popup/redirect option for pro users looks good, however, on my setup, it constantly pops up or redirects – regardless of whether I have any ad blockers or tracking blockers installed or just a plain browser window with no add-ons enabled.

    I have also tried clearing the cache, disabling and re-enabling the plugin, and disabling all other plugins – I still get redirected. How can I fix this? Or is this a common problem?

    Also, what is the logic if e.g. a CMP (complianz plugin) is installed? Does the ad blocker wait for consent? Otherwise, it would be a problem because with TCF enabled, ads are blocked until consent is given. Thanks for your help.

    I am pro user, but I guess that might also be useful for other pro users who noticed a similar behavior.

    I am working on replicating the issue on my side, and we will be working on a fix as soon as possible. We are doing our best to fix all reported issues after the updates and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

    I have also tried clearing the cache, disabling and re-enabling the plugin, and disabling all other plugins – I still get redirected Do you mean you are redirected even after disabling Advanced Ads and clearing all cache? could you please share with me the page where the issue occurs?

    Just a quick reply: No, the redirection only happens when I enable it, so does the overlay. But when I enable either redirection or the overlay, it constantly gets initiated, i.e., i get constantly redirected or the overlay pops up all the time. I have now disabled it and use a different solution on my website, but I am happy to provide more details later if you need. Thank you for your support!

    Thank you for confirming! I will check on my side and get back to you as well.

    If this is a bug in the plugin, we will work on a fix, and release it with one of the next updates. Once done, I will let you know here. Please keep the option disabled for now. Thank you a lot for your patience and understanding!

    Does the issue persist while using the latest release, of Advanced Ads v2.0.4 and Advanced Ads Pro v3.0.2?

    Hi Henning,

    Unfortunately, yes (with the latest versions you mentioned). If the ad blocker is enabled and the overlay is enabled, the overlay will be triggered immediately on my site, regardless of whether I have an ad blocker or a tracking blocker enabled.
