Ad banner covers up content

Hi,

I have a problem with wide banners on my site. I have the plugin set to add the ad before the third paragraph. The problem occurs when I have right or left floating images. When the ad gets added below, it’ll often mess up the flow or cover text as in this image. Is it a theme issue or a plugin issue? Thanks,
