Actually, Does Not Connect To Sendy – Other Issues Also
-
Alright, so, I did enter all the correct data to connect to Sendy.
I have another website using Mailoptin, and I confirmed that all of the data is exactly the same.
I got no errors on the Hustle > Sendy Connection.
However, when I enter an email and name, it does not show up on my Sendy list.
Just to make sure there was not an issue with Sendy, I did a quick email sign up on my other website using Mailoptin – no issue at all – worked perfectly.
I’m so bummed.
Additionally, I do not see any method to stop showing the pop up after someone signs up – is that available somewhere? Or better yet, just show it one time per visitor?
I’d love for this to work! But it does need to send emails to Sendy!!!
Let me know if you have any solutions.
Thanks.

Hi Larry,
I did some tests with Sendy on my end and I could see some issues as well, not sure if there were any changes on their API end so I have created a report for our devs to check this out further.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!Additionally, I do not see any method to stop showing the pop up after someone signs up β is that available somewhere? Or better yet, just show it one time per visitor?
When you create/edit your popup switch to Behavior tab and in there you can configure how will popup show after closing or opting in:

PredragThank you Predrag.
Thank you for looking into this and confirming that there is an issue. Please do update when you believe the issue is resolved because I would like to use your plugin to get Subscribers to my Sendy list.
Thank you for the other tip.
Larry
Hi Larry,
We were doing some additional tests in the meantime and it actually seems that everything is working fine and that the issue was that I was checking the wrong list (I’m not that familiar with Sendy π ).
When our QA team did additional tests they confirmed it works fine, even on my test site I used yesterday. So, in the end, it looks like this is something specific to your site I’m afraid.
Can you try performing a conflict test by disabling your other plugins and switching to default WP theme so we can see if anything there is blocking the subscription process?
I would suggest having a full backup of your site ready before performing the conflict test.Let us know how it goes.
Cheers,
PredragHi Predrag,
I deactivated the MailMunch plugin – an email plugin, and then I re-connected to Sendy and deleted the other connection. Your system said “connected.”I then turned on the pop up and added an email and went to Sendy to find it. No email.
I then went to my other website using MailOptin and entered an email in that form, and it immediately showed up in my Sendy list.
So, that got me thinking. I went to a completely different website – one that I use very little and which has only a few plugins on it. I installed Hustle, added Sendy (your system said it was successful connection) and did a test email with that.
Unfortunately, that did not work either.
That other website uses a different Theme.
All of my websites are running the very latest everything and are 100% up to date on everything.
Since it would not work on my other website, and yet MailOptin is working (on yet another website), I’m still thinking it is on your end.
If you get any new info, please let me know.
Hello @larrydcook ,
So, that got me thinking. I went to a completely different website β one that I use very little and which has only a few plugins on it.
Have you disabled ALL the plugins on the site. This requirement for the conflict test.
Are those sites on the same server or different ones?
Can you also enable debugging https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/ and see if there are any errors after submitting the form? let us know.
kind regards,
KasiaI went to another WordPress website I have – one I do not use, and turned off ALL plugins. I installed your plugin, connected to Sendy (your system said the connection was successful), entered an email into the pop-up – and it did not arrive at Sendy. I also tested the inline version – same deal – no emails.
All of my websites are on my Virtual Server.
Including the website that uses MailOptIn that continues to send emails to Sendy every time I run a test on that website.
So, it can’t be on the server side because if it were, MailOptIn would not get emails to Sendy.
It’s too much to continue doing trouble shooting on this plugin.
MailOptIn works, Hustle does not. I wanted Hustle because it has reCAPTCHA whereas MailOptIn does not. My website was attacked through that plugin and since they do not have reCAPTCHA, I cannot use it.
Thank you for your time.
Larry
Hello there @larrydcook
Hope you’re doing well and I’m sorry for the frustration on this.
I gave this another try in a testing site of mine and the integration seems to work well.
Did you also try to use a default theme like TwentyNineteen while you have all other plugins deactivated? Please advise!Warm regards,
DimitrisHello @larrydcook
I’m marking this topic as resolved due to recent inactivity.
Feel free to post back any updates or create a new topic about it and we’ll be glad to continue troubleshooting. πThank you,
DimitrisHi Dimitris,
I did not see your previous reply. So, I just inactivated all plugins except Hustle and switched to TwentyNinetten – same issue – I add an email and it does not pass through to my Sendy list.
I decided to run some tests on the actual connection.
Here is what I discovered:
If I change the API Key at all to a different last letter, Hustle says it cannot connect.
HOWEVER: If I change the last letter of the List ID to some other letter – Hustle says it is connected.
So, there is an issue with the LIST ID not connecting correctly, because there should be an error if I give it an invalid list ID.
Hopefully this will help you figure out what the problem is.
Larry
Hello @larrydcook ,
It looks like there is a bug with Sendy integration. I can see that our developers prepared a fix for this problem and it should be released with 7.0.1 version of Hustle.
kind regards,
KasiaThank you for looking into this and creating a fix Kasia – I look forward to using Hustle once I can connect to Sendy.
Take care,
Larry
Sadly, the latest update still does not work with Sendy.
I activated Hustle again, and sent a test email – it never arrived in my Sendy.
Additionally, I again changed the List ID to a fake number – and Hustle still said it was connected to my list.
I was really hoping for this to work. π
Larry
Hello @larrydcook,
Hope you’re doing well!
I’ve tested the Sendy integration on my end and could not replicate this issue.
I again changed the List ID to a fake number β and Hustle still said it was connected to my list.
Please add an actual Sendy list’s ID into the integration.
If it will not work, please try disconnecting Sendy from a current form, removing current integration from Hustle > Integrations and set it up one more time from the scratch. Please try resetting Sendy API as well.
Let us know how it went!
Kind regards,
NastiaI reset the API and started over. Still does not work π
I’m bummed.
