Activation and Admin Emails Not Being Sent

I would like to post this resolution to the problem that I found in case anyone else comes across the problem.

I am using wordpress and no emails were being sent out and users needed to activate the account before I could go live. I searched many forums and all I ever saw as a resolution was to use SMTP plugins which also had their own errors. After contacting my host they spent awhile helping me and we figured out that the coding being used to send doesn’t have a proper email address/sender listed.

That the from email was not proper format. I did not know where to go change the code and found out all I needed to do was install “Mail From” an extension that allows you to change the default wordpress@example.com email address that WordPress sends it’s email from.

After installing this and entering the email address that I wanted it to come from… worked like a charm!

I am posting this cause every from that did not help me was closed and I did not want someone to spend 3 hours to find a simple solution like me
