# activating Plugins

 * Hello,
 * I want to activate a plugin.
 * According to the Docs, the admin-panel should have, I quote,
 * “Just below the top shaded area are two hanging tabs, Screen Options and contextual
   Help, that can be clicked to expand them.”
 * In my case do not I see both tabs. What could be the problem??
 * Working with WP version 2.6 on a Mac G4 under Tiger (Mac OS 10.4.11)
 * Thank you in advance for your help.

    log in in left sidebar of dashboard click on Plugins – 
   then “add new”

 * Unfortunately there is no left sidebar, and therefor also no “Plugins” button.

 * g0erwt, I have the same problem as you.
    I am on 2.6.5 and I do not have a left
   sidebar dashboard and I do not have an add new button. Does anyone know how else
   we can install Plugins?
