Support » Plugin: WP Mail SMTP by WPForms » Activating plugin gives WP error

  • Resolved Jack

I’m getting this error after activating the plugin:

“The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

I deactivated all other plugins and switched from Enfold to a default WP theme (Twenty Seventeen), but still get this error. Also, I cannot change the admin email address. When I do, I get the same error, but I’m able to get back into wp-admin. There it says that an email has been sent, but nothing seems to be sent so I cannot check for what other information WP has about the problem.

I also switched from PHP 7.3 to 7.2 to see if that makes a difference, but it didn’t.

    Hi Jack,

I apologize for any trouble. When you get a chance, could you please enable your debug log and share the error details here? In case it helps, here’s the tutorial on getting errors log.

Thanks, and please share the details!

Hi @moxie – We haven’t heard from you in about a week, so I’m going to go ahead and mark this ticket resolved. If you still have questions, though, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

In this case I switched to another smtp plugin. I didn’t have time to search for the reason or conflict with another plugin and switching fixed it :).
