Activating New Theme

  • Hi there. I am pretty inexperienced with WordPress, but would like to activate a new theme for a blog that I have inherited. The blog was made in 2006, using a customized version of the yourblog 2.0 theme. Thanks in advance for your help with this!

I have installed a new theme, but am basically afraid to activate it. Once activated, will it completely overwrite the current theme files OR will the custom CSS that had previously been done for yourblog 2.0 remain? I would like to scrap the previous theme completely, and start over from scratch.

If the new theme doesn’t work, how do I revert to yourblog 2.0? Will it be restored just as it was before activating the new theme? How do I “undo”?

I tried to preview a new theme (MYgRID2) using the wp plugin Theme Test Drive, but none of the post images showed up on the main page. The images did appear once I clicked on the post titles, though. Any idea why this might be happening?

I would very much appreciate any insight / directions shared.

    Thank you!

    It should remain.

Simply re-activate the old theme via Appearance->Themes.
