I’m seeing odd behavior from the image uploader in the admin area of my website. When uploading an image through the Media Library or the “Add Media” button on a post page (admin side), the time for an image to upload to my server varies from 30 to 60 seconds from the time that I drop the file onto the upload screen and the time that the uploader returns with the attachment details showing. This variation in timing was seen when uploading a single file, to the same site, multiple times.
I’ve found that if I disable my CDN, then the time to upload another image drops to somewhere around 2 seconds. All other options within the W3TC plugin are active (I use Page, Minify, Database, Object, and Browser in addition to a CDN) without any issues.
Is it possible that W3TC trying to automatically upload the new file to my CDN? If so, is there a way that I can disable that functionality and instead rely on using the “Upload Stuff” buttons on the W3TC CDN page? If not, what else might be causing this issue?
Thanks for your prompt reply.
