    OK after I downloaded and installed, I clicked the prompt to auto configure the installation and poof my front page content disappeared, leaving just the logo and search bar visible. De-activated the plugin, no success. Followed the steps in the support to rename page.php to product-adder.php, still no joy.

    Suggestions??

    Hi @dufegha,

    You shouldn’t just change page.php file name. It will break your theme.

    If you want to proceed with the theme integration you should duplicate the page.php and name the duplicated file product-adder.php.

    To fix your problem you should change the modified file name to original.

    Thank you for your response. When I pressed the Auto configure button, which according to the help file should have loaded some kind of live preview, what exactly got changed and in what files? I have a custom theme and after the site broke I then read that I needed a child theme? In any case, I did duplicate the the page.php and rename it to product-adder.php etc after the site broke but it had no effect and the site is still down. I would like to know what code to remove or modify to put it back to how it was before.

    Hi @dufegha,

    Thank you for the information.

    It doesn’t change anything when you click auto configure. It loads the example product page where you can adjust the styling.

    Do you see anything in the debug log? Did you try to enable WP_DEBUG?

    Please also try to refresh your permalinks.

    the preview page never appeared and since then I have deactivated and reactivated the plugin and I dont see the preview. I am going to enable wp_debug now as you suggest.

    I think I have it narrowed down to an incompatible theme. As I have been using using a custom theme that a developer configured, I have no idea where to start debugging. I tried your plugin with an “off the shelf” theme and it works perfectly. I think a word of caution should be offered to anyone using your plugin with a custom theme – I will have to pay to get it fixed or restore from an old backup and find out what I have lost. This is the first time I have such a problem with a plugin, so I am not particularly happy.

    Sorry to hear that you had such problems.

    Please note that eCommerce Product Catalog doesn’t change anything in your theme.

    Maybe the custom theme has a problem with custom post types or has other bug?
