    Hi, I run a very active blog averaging 300-600 users online at any one time throughout the day. I received a warning from my hosting company [hostgator], that I was already running out of bandwidth and using too much of the server resources.

    This is only 7 days into the month and I have 100gb bandwidth per month.

    They told me to make sure I enabled caching. So I put the site back online for about 10 minutes and while I was looking in the admin panel for anything related to “caching” — the site goes down. This time my account was suspended.

    It’s still off line. Soon as I find out what the ransom is and get the site back up, I’ll need to find out how to reduce the amount of resources my blog uses.

    Can anyone help — or give me suggestions on what to do next. I cannot go to a VPS or dedicated server since I dont have the tech skills for that.

    ps — I removed parts of plugins that might have caused some problems like “wp-users online” and “wp-stats.”

  • For “cache” you should look around here and in the Plugins section of the Codex. WP-Cache is a plugin.

    According to Matt’s wp-2.0 plugin compatability list:

    WP-Cache (http://mnm.uib.es/gallir/wp-cache-2/) No errors, but the actual caching doesn’t seem to work properly. Also, there are reported problems with PHP 5.

    Is there a plugin that works?
