I am trying to get my site ready for a new version of The Events Calendar. They told me to deactivate the template overrides (see below). I thought I would try it on a staging site first, but I can’t figure out how to get to my wp-content theme files on the staging site. Is anyone able to direct me? I am not in any way an expert, but willing to try. Thanks.

This is what they told me to try:
    Deactivating template overrides
    1. Look at your theme files /wp-content/themes/hillstead/
    2. Try to locate the following folder /wp-content/themes/hillstead/the-events-calendar/
    3. Rename the folder by adding “z_” as a prefix /wp-content/themes/hillstead/z_the-events-calendar/

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there!
    Thanks for asking this question.

You can get to the wp-content folder of the staging site just as you reach it on the live site, I assume by connecting to your server via FTP, right? If you don’t know what FTP is, then you can ask your hosting provider about it, or check this video, or even this one.

Let’s say your live site is located at:
/var/www/html/ then your staging site will be at /var/www/html/staging/ or whatever the name you choose as your staging site name. And the wp-content folder should be at:
    /var/www/html/staging/wp-content/

Let me know how it goes,
    Thanks,
    Alaa
