Support » Themes and Templates » Accessible Theme or know of a plug-in?

  • Resolved NerdSpawn

I’m currently looking at using WordPress for creating a website for a non-profit organisation. One of the most important features needed for this site would be accessibility.

Question for you experts: could you recommend any accessible themes?

Also, in the same vein, do you know if there is any existing functionality within WordPress or something that can be added which will allow the reader to increase / decrease font size? Many sites with accessibility as a concern now have buttons located on their pages that will “increase / decrease /return to default “the font size and change the font style.

Thanks in advance for your help / comments.

There at least two ways to allow the reader to change font sizes based on preferences in your site.
    1. Create two more CSS files to show medium size font and the other to show large size font (the first CSS you already have is default size). You call the CSS via javascript. Use this in regular website or WordPress – Alternate Style Sheets Rated: 10/10 🙂
    2. WordPress Plugin – Change Font Size
Note: never tried this before, but looks good.

No. It’s more like my brain. ; )

Thanks for your posts! I’d run across the Sea Beast theme in my scouring yesterday but not the Rapid Access theme or the change font size plugin (works beautifully, by the way).
