I would like to disable some widgets to remove some items from my pages. can
you please advise me on how to do this without drag and drop. specifically I’d
like to remove the archives and calander from pages. thanks

 * There is a link labeled ‘Screen Options’ at the top of the widget page in admin
which when opened leads to an option to Enable accessibility mode. If you enable
this option, I hope this will help you.
 * Selecting this option enabled me to set widgets in previous versions of WordPress
before drag & drop was supported on iPad.

 * 😀 wow too cool but now I realize that I don’t know how to use widgets to make
the changes. I tried to do what they said in moving the widget into another place
and then moving it back. and moved it to inactive> edit > delete, and neither
works. how do I remove the archives and the calander from the theme? if I should
   start a new thread, I understand 🙂

 * It appears that your theme puts in Archive & calendar widgets by default I’d
none are specified, so these should not appear if you specify any widgets instead
of these. Try adding any other widget to the sidebar. Try an empty text widget
if you don’t want anything to appear at all.

 * I can’t click on anything on the widgets screen.
