Hi Curtis,
I apologize, but I am working on another project at the moment, however, I tested using your own page as I noted above, so the issue would not be my js version 🙂
I do not expect the focus to leave the popup once the popup is displayed. A user should be able to hit OK, Cancel or Esc to exit. That is all. Tabbing through the menu and address bar only adds confusion, and is not compliant, from my understanding.
Check out this link (https://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria-practices-1.1/examples/dialog-modal/dialog.html) and scroll to the light blue box with the heading Keyboard Support. This explains compliant behavior.
Hope that helps, Curtis! Thanks again for you work on this. It is appreciated and I admire your intelligence and determination to get this working 🙂 – scott
Excellent, Scott. Thanks so much! I’m re-enacting the plan to add SweetAlert2 as an option. It seems that jAlert is closer, but still not quite there. I’ll be releasing 1.8.2 later today with the SA2 options back in place. I also was alerted to a bug in the custom theme selection in the 1.8 series. As soon as I have a fix for that one, I’ll push the next release.
You have been a huge help and I truly appreciate it!
Happy to help. It’s the least I can do 🙂
That sounds great! Thanks again, Curtis.
Ok, let’s give this another swing! 1.8.2 is live with SweetAlert2. Not at all configurable yet, but it’s there for better accessibility implementation. Do let me know how it goes when it’s convenient!
Thanks again to both of you, @sbernado and @tincabin!
That was quick 🙂 I just tested 1.8.2 and it is working perfectly for me. Nicely done! Thank you so much, Curtis! – scott
Hi Curtis, I am so glad I stumbled across this thread! I run a wordpress website for a City Government and also require an accessible exit notifier. I just wanted to thank you for your diligent work on this. It is so hard to find plugins that meet accessibility requirements and for the longest time I did not use any exit notifier for just that reason. Thanks again. Really appreciate it!
