Out of the 3 sites I support using 2010 theme 2 have lost the ability to add to the Secondary Widget Area and the footers. The content is still there but I cannot edit it.
This seems to have happened since updating to 3.2.2
I haven’t edited any of the code on the themes. Any support gratefully received.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

I’ve tried accessing the sites on a different PC and it goes away so it must be specific to the version of Internet Explorer I’m using. Rather than mess around with the site I’m going to change browser, it’s easier.
    Thanks for the suggestions.
