Support » Plugin: Progressive WordPress (PWA) » Access to Registration only from external source

  • I need to protect access to the registration screen such that it cannot be reached by simply having the URL.

Our PWA offers access to “VIP pages” after receiving a “VIP Gift Pack” issued by one of our participating businesses.
We currently have an embedded third party form that requires a security code be entered by the issuer and then directs the user to the registration screen.

How can we ensure that the registration screen cannot be accessed by simply having the URL?

Some possibilities I have found include:
    – generating a one time URL and/or
    – directing to a “Deep Linked” lightbox

Please excuse my limited web development knowledge but am trying to understand the best approach to then discuss with my developers.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hi @kurt777

If I understand it correctly you want to restrict access to a page, right?

This has nothing to do with the features you get from using Progressive WordPress. If you search for a plugin that allows you to restrict access to a page (maybe by entering a password) I’m sure you’ll find hundreds of WordPress plugins that allow you to achieve this.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Nico,

I have some pages open to the public but the bulk of the site is made up of restricted “VIP” pages that should only be accessible by “members”. (i.e they have purchased or been issued the “VIP Pack”.)

To get access they have to register in some way. How do I restrict access to the registration page/pop-up, so that it can only reached after a code has been entered by the issuer?

I hope that explains my situation better,

    Hi Kurt

As I said. This has nothing to do with PWA or my plugin. You should search for a WordPress plugin that allows to restrict access to specific sites.

    Kind regards,

I have started a new thread for this where I have asked this question more clearly.
