[resolved] Access Forbidden to Theme Editor (5 posts)

    Hello everyone,

I've been running my blog (http://www.amynelsonmile.net/booksblog/) on WordPress for about a month now. I made a lot of changes to my theme when I first set it up, and then left it for a while.

Today I thought I'd go in and change some links, so I went to do this, and I keep getting this error message:

You don't have permission to access /booksblog/wp-admin/theme-editor.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I notice that suddenly it's telling me I have to think about the wp-admin folder, which I never had to worry about before.

However, I went in and changed the permissions for the wp-admin folder generally and the theme-editor.php folder specifically (although not the others in that folder).

I'm still not able to make the changes.

Any ideas about what I'm doing wrong? All help gratefully accepted.

    Did you check your chmod?

I checked my file permissions and they were all as I had left them originally (back when I was able to make changes).

I did get this problem solved, eventually. I E-mailed my host and they needed to change a setting at their end.
