Support » Plugin: Stop Spammers » access denied for anyone NOT logged in

I have several other sites using this plugin without any problem. My current problem is that only people logged in can view the site. All others get text that says… Access Denied, This site is protected by the Stop Spammer Registrations Plugin.

I renamed it and even deleted the plugin but the same thing keeps happening. Does this sound like it’s happened before? How do I get my site back?

    Thanks in advanced.

  • It sounds like it might be a caching problem. If you have a caching plugin, could it have cached the rejection page?

Deactivate the plugin and then reset the cache. If you have deleted or renamed the plugin then I lean towards the cache.

If you don’t have a cache plugin then delete the uninstall the plugin and see if access is restored. If the plugin won’t uninstall then just delete it in the plugins directory.

I’m not using a caching plugin. But, I just update 4 other non-related plugins and I went from 3.5 to 3.5.1 and I have my site back. The odd thing was that some of the inside pages were working and some plus the home page got that Denied error. And all of this was happening without the Stop Spammer Registration Plugin physically being there at all.

Now that I think of it. I’m wondering if cloudflare has anything to do with it. I forgot that I have that service switched on and I’m supposed to go there and enable developer mode to work on the site. They cache it, right? I will check that if I have any further problems.

Thanks for getting back to me so fast Keith.

It was cloudflare. I have many reports of cloudflare causing problems because of things like hiding the IP address and caching the site.

hi, i’m a user (certainly not a spammer!) at and i’m experiencing the same problem (i think); i tried logging in but now i get “Access Denied, This site is protected by the Stop Spammer Registrations Plugin.” any ideas? i’ve emailed the site owner but haven’t heard back yet.
