Hi all, I'd be very appreciative for help with this. I'm trying to install on my laptop using Web PI. The first time the computer seemed to hang at the final stage. The keyboard stopped working. So I deleted all the products I'd downloaded, cleaned all the old files and rebooted with minimal services running. Then I got a bit further. The error msg is "We're sorry, the following products have failed to install. WordPress. This product did not install successfully. The database 'wordpress' could not be created. Access denied for 'wordpressuser'@'localhost'. (using passwordL: YES).

I now have two enormous install logs and no clue.

I'm using 64 bit Windows 7 and am logged on as the Administrator. (It's my only user account.) I accepted all the defaults when installing.

    Hey Nick H.,

Are you using Web Platform Installer 3? I'm getting the same error. I just hope it's for the same reason! Love to hear what you discovered...

    I used Web PI 3.0.

I suspect this was the problem, although I can't be sure: on the failed installation I accepted all the defaults. But the first default needs to be changed. I think it says something like "install new database". If you click on it the other option drops down, which is "use existing database". That's the one you want, because (I suspect) by the time you get to this stage MySQL has already installed a database. If you've accepted the defaults I think the database name is "root". But you shouldn't need to type it in - it should already be supplied.

I hope this helps - it's from memory, I didn't write it down and I don't want to do it all over again to check. I hope I'm not leading you in the wrong direction!
