• Hello,

I need to allow access for someone to edit some coding as I’m not able to. I’m thinking of setting him up as another user but don’t feel comfortable with having him being an admin. All I want him to do is fix some code which I’m unable to. Is there another way of allow him too without allow him some much access.

    Cheers,
    John

As per as my knowledge no. Because if someone add/edit code then he/she need wp-admin access as a administrator otherwise FTP or cPanel.
Before giving him access take a backup of your file and database. If anything goes wrong then you can revert back to your old one.

I see. I allowed the developer access via FTP however I received this response which I’m unsure as to how to perform.

He states ‘there’s still a problem with ajax’ and to

    1) Open your cpanel and set permission “wp-admin” to 755 or 644 (edited)

    2) Contact to your hosting provider to increase the memory_limit value to 128M

Plus I’m not sure how to create a backup of the file and database :-/
