Hello everyboy, I have mounted a computer with Ubuntu server 10.04 LTS and in him a blog with WP. If I install WordPress from the local network only I can access to the blog from intranet but not from internet and, vice versa, if I install it from Internet (with SSH) i can see it from internet but not from intranet.
In the first case the permalinks have the format
Http: // 192.168.1.4/blog/....... therefore if I pulse on the link from Internet, there is going to be looked this IP that is not in the local network of the external computer and gives mistake.
If I install WP from Internet (with SSH) all the permalinks have the form:
Http: // 220.127.116.11:4444/blog ...... (I use a different port from 80 because the router does not allow the "particular" traffic for him), when I open the blog from the local network and pulse on a link it returns to hang because from intranet it is not possible to access to the own one IP_public (static).
In both cases the blog works correctly if I open it from the network that I it installed.
I have checked everything, even I have formatted the server and have returned to do everything from zero, but.....
In another forum they have said to me that it fixes up changing the file/etc/hosts into the equipments of the local network adding a line of the type:
This way I have done it but it is not solved either.
Lately I’m 'studying' to trying it across the file .htaccess but it seems to me to be very complicated and do not be if I will end up by tying a bigger fuss.
My great doubt: is it possible to access to the same blog from the local network and from Internet if it is installed in an server of this local network?
I am starting believing that such a thing is impossible.
If it is not impossible has someone done it? How?
Thank you in advance.
