    Hello,
I have a client that wants to be able to accept credit cards directly on his site rather than transferring to PayPal or any other site. I’ve heard a lot of varying things about this, like the need for certification beyond a standard SSL, but am not sure what the guidelines are or if there is a plugin that will allow shopping carts and card payments like he described.

Can anyone give me some additional information? It would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

Pretty much every eCommerce plugin (WooCommerce and WP eCommerce to name a few), offer additional payment gateways which can be run through the site (like Stripe or Authorize.net).

just use an ecommerce plugin like woocommerce. it has paypal built into it. if you go down the road of setting up SSL and merchant accounts then you need deep pockets as it’s not cheap and by taking credit and debit cards directly through the site yourself your setting yourself up for all kinds of financial hell if something goes wrong.

let paypal handle all of the headache for you! 😀
