Support » Plugin: MailPoet 2 » Abrupt change in open rate

  • Just curious, we just started using Mailpoet, the first two posts had open rates in the .95 range but the third and fourth dropped to .18 and .14. The letters are being sent using php mail over our server, Siteground, a very reliable host, although I know you don’t recommend this method. Still, the abrupt change in open rate is puzzling. Any comment appreciated.

How many subscribers you had when you sent your first newsletter? And how many you have now that you sent more newsletters?

    Thanks for your reply.

The number of subscribers has been fairly constant over the four letters sent – approx 1100.

    Here is a Screenshot

I have since setup the SPF and DKIM correctly so maybe that will help.

I’ve seen seen the same kind of stats with my sending, but feedback from subscribers advised that the reason why they did not open the newsletter is that they did not receive it in the first place.
I’ve seen several sites reporting the same kind of issue and hope to receive some advice / help.

It appears that all mails were indeed sent out. But most were rejected by the domain they were sent to (yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc.) due to DMARC policy restrictions.
Not sure how to circumvent that …
