    – You need to create a page from wp-admin->Pages and assign your template as the “Template”. Until you do that, WordPress won’t know where to find the “page” or won’t know what to do with the request.
    – while creating/editing pages in the Admin area, under “Page Attributes” in the right panel you select a template. make sure all templates have a call for the footer.

When I am looking at my ABOUT page, at the right side under PAGE ATTRIBUTES, it lists only PARENT and ORDER. It does not show a TEMPLATE box allowing further customization. I am using the Genesis theme. I apologize formy lack of knowledge in this area. I am still lost. 🙁

I just openedup a new page and the TEMPLATE option was on this page. So I cut and pasted my ABOUT page info and saved/published it. In the PARENT column, I chose the ABOUT option. Still not showing. (Grr.)
