Ability to send new user email with password

We are using CiviCRM membership sign up to assign users a role that gives them access to an online application in WordPress that we have developed. This plugin works great, but I wanted to see if there was any way to notify the user of their username and password if this plugin creates them a new account after their membership sign up. I see the account is created and the role is set correctly once they complete the CiviCRM contribution form for the membership, but they are not logged in nor have they been sent their username and password, so there’s no way for them to login except by using the “Lost Password” feature.
