Thanks for the plug-in, it is great. I has been a valuable asset on my site for years.
I have a movie site and I want to enter directors, actors, etc. in the Edit Post page, so using a ‘taxonomy tag’ seems to be the smartest way to go. I have an “actor” field set up and connected to a People taxonomy, so I’d like to be able to start typing an actor’s name and have it auto-fill if the person exists, and, if they don’t, I could add the name manually — exactly like the built-in WP tag cloud utility.
I tried to configure the existing Simple Fields plug-in to do this, but the best I can do seems to return a long list of checkboxes of names to pick from, which is too cumbersome for what I need. I’d really like that ‘tag’ field functionality.
I want these names to be clickable to a people archive page on the front-end, and this seems to be the best way to go if I do this with Simple Fields.
My site is already set up with Simple Fields and I’d love to be able add this new capability without doing major re-coding, if possible.
Is this possible and I am just missing it? Or this something you are considering adding?
In addition, just to make this difficult, I am trying to do everything using the new schema.org standards, so I’d love to be able to tag each name with a unique identifier (director name, actor name, etc.).
Thanks for any suggestions.
