  • Resolved traceywashere

I have no idea when this started, but I just noticed it today … when creating a new post or page, there aren’t any options to allow or disallow commenting, ping backs, etc

where did it go? is there some global flag that i’ve enabled that would remove this ability?

under the discussion tab i have all 3 boxes checked at the top
Attempt to notify any blogs linked to from the article.
Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)
Allow people to post comments on new articles

i’ve disabled pretty much every plug in, and even did a re-upgrade on 3.1

i guess i’m thinking that with 3.1 the functionality went somewhere else??

  • I think I noticed that the other day, too; but didn’t really investigate.

You should still be able to “Quick Edit” the post or page to enable comments/pingbacks. I’ll have to investigate a little bit to see if I can figure out where that option may have gone and what may cause it not to show up in individual post/page edit screens.

    Found it.

Go to the post/page edit screen. In the top right corner, click the “Screen Options” link to open that menu. You’ll probably see that the “Discussion” option is not checked. Check that off, and the “Discussion” (comment/pingback options) should appear on the screen.

You should only need to do that once (though you may need to do that once for each post type).

THANK YOU!! wow! yeah … ur awesome !

man it was totally makin me CRAZY!!
