    Hello.

Great plugin, but I’d like to know: Someone start to purchase by clicking on “Checkout” button but the purchase is not completed, so the order is marked as “Cancelled” or “On hold”. Is this considered as an “abandoned cart”?. I have noted that when this occur, the abandoned purchase isn’t showed at the abandoned cart list. Could you explain it, please? Does the plugin believe that when someone click on “Checkout” the purchase is done, although it is cancelled?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Thank you for appreciating our plugin.

No, we are not considering the cart as “Abandoned” whose order status is “Cancelled” and “On Hold”.

Let me explain our plugin’s workflow:

    >> I have noted that when this occur, the abandoned purchase isn’t showed at the abandoned cart list. Could you explain it, please?

When the user is not able to make the payment for the order, the WooCommerce consider the order status as “Pending” or either “Failed”.

Before any abandoned cart reminder email is sent to the customer and user clicks on the “Place an Order” button on the checkout page and try to pay an order, then we are deleting the record from the Abandoned Orders tab. And no longer consider as abandoned irrespective of the order status of that order.

We have planned to consider the “Cancelled” order as “Abandoned”. And we will fix it in our plugin update.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance from us.

    Hi,

    You are welcome. 🙂

I will let you know once we will release the plugin with the same feature.

Please let me know if you have any further queries.

Hi, can you also consider the “Pending” order as “Abandoned”? Maybe after 30 min-1 hour timeout. Cause many of my orders stay in “Pending” forever and sure no chance to be recovered by your plugin(

    Hi,

Can you please confirm that you are talking about the “Hold Stock(minutes)” time of the WooCommerce setting which is located at WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory page > Hold Stock (minutes)?

Please check the screenshot for it: http://screencast.com/t/dWIFLhXwfQuw

If yes, then I would like to let you know that when hold stock time is reached for the order, WooCommerce will automatically change the status to “Cancelled”. Can you please confirm on it?

Please let me know if I misunderstood your query.

Also, I would like to let you know we are considering the “Pending” order status as abandoned in one scenario(Case-b). The case is described below:

    1) Before any abandoned cart reminder email sent to the customer:

If the guest user has tried to pay the order before any of the abandoned cart reminder emails are sent to the customer then the same abandoned cart will be deleted and no longer consider as abandoned irrespective of the order status of that order.

    2) Guest or logged in user have Abandoned cart and closed the browser.

Let’s consider that the Customer “A” ( Guest User) has abandoned the cart from the firefox. He left the site and closed the browser.

Now before any abandoned cart reminder email is sent to him, Customer “A” comes back to your site and placed the order using same email address from the same browser or mobile.

Then if the order status is “Pending” for the same order then we do consider that cart as abandoned. And for that cart, we send the abandoned cart reminder emails.

Also please note that if the order status of the WooCommerce is “Pending” or “Failed” then only the abandoned cart reminder email will be sent. And for other WooCommerce order status, we do not send the abandoned cart reminder emails.

Kindly let me know if you have any further question with it.

    Hi again.

About your last answer to @enok77 : so, the plugin is sending an email remainder when the status is “Pending”?

I have made some tests and this email was never sent.

However, I have known the trick of setting a time in the “Hold Stock(minutes)” option. I didn’t know it 🙁 So thank you for explain it. This will be great when you update your plugin.

    Regards.

    Hi,

    You are welcome. 🙂

Glad to know that you have understood about the functionality of “Hold Stock(minutes)” time.

    >> so, the plugin is sending an email remainder when the status is “Pending”? I have made some tests and this email was never sent.

I appologize, we had explained the functionality of Abandoned Cart PRO version. In the Abandoned Cart Lite plugin, it will not act as the same.

Let me expaling how the Lite version is working:

From Abandoned cart Lite plugin, if the user came from the abandoned cart reminder email and try to pay the order and the order status is “Pending” then our plugin keep the record of that orders in the abandoned orders list. And it will send the abandoned cart reminder email to the user.

If the user place an order before sending any abandoned cart reminder email and the order status is “Pending”, then we are not considering the “Pending” order as “Abandoned”. And the abandoned cart reminder email will not be sent.

But in the Abandoned Cart Lite version, we have planned to consider the “Pending” order as “Abandoned” if the user places an order before sending any abandoned cart reminder email. And probably, we will include this feature in our next to next plugin update.

Again, please accept my deepest apologies for it.

    Chetna Bhutka

    Hello.

Don’t worry, there is no apologies to consider 🙂

And thank you for all your kind explanation. Very clear.

And I think it’s time to go for your PRO version 😉

    Best regards!
