• WP United’s main website is filled with more spambots than you can shake a stick at. Critical errors have caused me to disconnect the bridge between WordPress and phpBB.

I am disappointed with the lack of ownership of this plugin. I get that people can get busy with life, but it’s common courtesy to give people a heads up if someone’s on vacation, or away for extended periods of time.

Historically, I have donated to plugins in the past that have served me well. I’d love to do the same for this plugin if it ever gets picked back up. Unfortunately its unreliability has caused me more grief than good. I would have been better off not using this plugin to begin with.

  • Shame, this plugin could probably have had a premium version to help its upkeep.

It has prompted me to add a bridge plugin to our list of projects and I look forward to it.

And I look forward to an alternative bridge, please keep us updated on that!

I would gladly pay for a stable version as well. I don’t even need half of the features it offers, I just want a reliable template integration to put phpbb into a WordPress page.

Shame, this plugin was so close to being great.

I’ve emailed the author hoping the idea of a premium edition is enough for more time to be invested soon and show signs that this plugin is still good to go with. I would prefer that than being a rival to a plugin which could go further.

He is not off the radar, the last update wasn’t really that long ago however in terms of the support questions and some bugs. I’m feeling like he needs to decide if this plugin can fit into his future.

If not let another author or a group of them adopt it.
