When I select the checkboxes for default access to Backend categories and posts under the “Posts & Pages” section, it’s taking anywhere from 10 seconds to over a minute for the checkmark to appear. When I check the network, it appears to be related to a call to admin-ajax.php that occurs after each click. This long delay is driving me crazy and also adding a major strain on my server load. Any chance you could help? I’ve already disabled other plugins that might be in conflict, but there is no difference in performance.

  • Hi fortgordonmwr,

AAM does not have any part of functionality that will require so much time to execute. Even if it was not true, PHP will trigger an error because of 30 seconds execution timeout (unless you changed it to more than standard 30 sec).

I would suggest to contact your hosting provider asap. Last time when I personally experienced so slow response is when somebody tried to hack my website (DDOS attack) and a lot of hosting has a mechanism to slow down the website response to prevent from hacking it.

If this is not a case, then we would need to debug your server and to be able to do that we would need the FTP credentials to it.

Contact us via email at vasyl@vasyltech.com if you want to continue this conversation.

    Regards,
