I currently have 11,919 published posts and 48 published pages. And, I publish roughly 24 posts per day. However, this is actually pruned back. I did have over 20,000 pages over a year ago and I don’t believe this element was this big at the time.
I updated the plugin and made the option to not autoload anymore. I also made some tweaks in the way it is working. The logic behind this feature needs to be changed to meet performance standards.

Autoload is still set to “yes”. Will I have to change this manually?
The autoload should change when the option is modified. If you can manually alter it, I suggest you to delete the database row with that option. Custom post settings will be reset.

Yes, you can delete that option. If you set custom number of links to be displayed in each article, that settings will be lost.
