Support » Plugin: A-Z Listing » A-Z listing shows all pages

  • Hi,

Plugin looks really nice, but I am having problems with using the [a-z-listing] shortcode to show only the child pages. No matter which page I place the shortcode on, it lists all pages on the domain. I have also tested on a different domain without luck.

    Thanks,
    Tommy

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The limiting to child pages feature is very brittle, and was a bodge job to support a specific client’s requirements. I am working on exposing a new attribute to the shortcode which will allow you to explicitly set the parent page that you want to fetch the children from. I hope that will make it much friendlier and less “magic”.

This is great news! I need the same for a project. Do you have any idea when this feature will be available?

    Great plugin 🙂

With version 2.1.0/2.1.1 you can now tell the shortcode to show child pages of a specific page:

    [a-z-listing display="posts" post-type="page" parent-post="42"]

The value for parent-post is a Post ID number. See this page for instructions to find a post-id.
