• Hi guys,

I have switched from blogger to the wordpress platform a year ago. I have started writing and sharing in my own website jlcaranddesign.co.uk. It was alright at the beginning and I get around 40 page view everyday. But one day I made some mistake with the plugin and the site crash. After that, I managed to get it back on track but unfortunately all organic traffic was gone. I have been patient to wait the traffic back but after almost 6 months. I only get less than 10 page views everyday. I have did all the SEO, sitemap and any other optimization stuffs.

Can you guys please give me some help? I am passionate on blogging and I really don’t wanna give up my site, thank you very much for the help.

The URL of my website is jlcaranddesign.co.uk

    Jeff

  • Your robots.txt file shows

    User-agent: *
    Disallow:
    Crawl-delay: 10

which means you are by default allowing all robots by not blocking them with

    Disallow: /

    Change it to

    User-agent: *
    Allow: /

to specifically allow all with no other disallows for some directories. No need for the crawl delay directive.

A good general purpose robots.txt file for WordPress sites is

    User-agent: *
    Allow: /
    Disallow: /*?s=
    Disallow: /wp-admin/*
    Disallow: /wp-includes/*
    Disallow: /wp-content/cache
    Disallow: /trackback
    Disallow: /comments
    Disallow: /category/*/*
    Disallow: */trackback
    Disallow: */comments
    Disallow: /xmlrpc.php

Hi songdoggtech, thank you for the advice and I have already change it. Is there any issues you find in the website?

Not really. But you are in a very competitive keyword environment, so it will be difficult to rank high.
