Hi thundersbe. You could modify content-featured.php and change the thumbnail size there. Or you could resize it using css:
.featured .post-thumbnail img {
width: 500px;
height: 300px;
}
Hi,
My featured images are also showing up very large! Changing the thumbnail size in content-featured. php – but where? I have copied a part of the content-featured.php below. Where can I make the change? In the line with the (‘thumb-large); …and change it to width: 500px;
height: 300px; or what?
<div class=”post-thumbnail”>
” title=”<?php the_title(); ?>”>
<?php if ( has_post_thumbnail() ): ?>
<?php the_post_thumbnail(‘thumb-large’); // only difference to content.php ?>
<?php elseif ( ot_get_option(‘placeholder’) != ‘off’ ): ?>
<img src=”<?php echo get_template_directory_uri(); ?>/img/thumb-medium.png” alt=”<?php the_title(); ?>” />
Hopefully anyone can help me (I’m not very good at CSS etc.)
If you’re modifying content-featured.php you would copy that file to a child theme and then change this:
<?php the_post_thumbnail('thumb-large'); // only difference to content.php ?>
to a smaller size, like medium (which is 520×245):
<?php the_post_thumbnail('thumb-medium'); // only difference to content.php ?>
Or you could leave content-featured.php the way it is and add the css I posted above to the theme Custom CSS option, a child theme style.css file or use a plugin like Simple Custom CSS.
