A valid ID has not been provided

It looks like this plugin may be the one I need to showcase historical type specimens in a “scholarly” setting:

•Simple slide show that auto-scrolls vertically and pauses on hover
•Automatic inclusion of WP Media Library captions centered below each image
•Fixed slider height to prevent content below it from “jumping up and down”
•Images must retain original dimensions without distortion!

•Clicking a hovered image leads to an EDD eCommerce page enabling purchase:

As for [many!] other slider plugins tested, I deleted the sample slides and added my own images: The tallest, the shortest and a middle-sized one—each with a different width. After saving, I copied the shortcode to a new standard WP page [text mode].

Boo-Hoo! The page does not load… Instead, it returns the error message “A valid ID has not been provided.”

What am I missing or doing wrong? Is it possible that Slide Anything conflicts with Easy Digital Downloads, my theme or another plugin?

Check the Shortcode used in your page content e.g.
[slide-anything id=’1020′]
Make a note of it.

Then go to ‘SA Sliders’ in your WordPress Dashboard.
Check that the shortcode you used above matches a Shortcode in ‘Shortcode’ column.

The shortcode on the page matches the one in the slide dialog: [slide-anything id="37103"]

Has anyone else had this problem before?

I’m really depending on Slide Anything to resolve the problems I have experienced with other plugins.

Is there a mistake here that explains the problem?

Morning, did you manage to get this resolved?
Looking at the link you provided I see that a SA slider is displaying – see screenshot:

Note, to get the [caption] shortcode working, try enabling the ‘Allow Shortcodes’ checkbox.

Enabling the “Allow Shortcodes” option fixed the “A valid ID has not been provided” problem—thank you!

Now I realize that Slide Anything is not intended to display images in the way I need:

•Full-width, centered/centered display of each image including its native caption.
•Vertical (second choice, horizontal) transition from one full-width image to the next.
•Acceptable output on mobile vs desktop/laptop devices.

The ideal plugin will work like this—plus captions and fixed vertical dimension:

Maybe a future update will offer these powers? If so, it will be the *perfect* choice for my site! In the meantime, I must explore the potential of competing sliders.
