A transfer problem

I’m transferring my WordPress blog from one host to another, but I believe I acted too quickly. I used the Cpanel feature to make a complete backup of everything I have on the server. I thought it would be as easy as copying all of WordPress files to the new server. This didn’t work, though. I still have the generic, “hello world� post as the only thing posted. It did restore my old template, however, which is a start. I guess my question is where is my content saved if it’s not in the files that are come with WordPress? Since I made a complete backup of the server, I hope that I can still restore my 300+ posts. I have searched around and found a lot of topics about importing and exporting but nothing specifically to my problem.
