# A solid plugin

 * This is a solid plugin that gets the job done. I will continue to use it while
   I build and optimize my site. I use it as a word counter and checklist to make
   sure I don’t forget things like alt attributes.
 * The customer service at Rank Math is also pretty good.
 * I have used both Yoast and Rank Math. When I set up my new site, I decided to
   give Rank Math a try. It’s a good plugin, but there are some reasons why I prefer
   Yoast and will eventually switch back to it. The advice from Rank Math tends 
   to encourage spammy, low-brow, clickbait headlines (“7 life-hacks that will blow
   your mind, 4th one is the best!!!” ~ actual example from RM) ; this may or may
   not work for your audience (a headline like this would my alienate mine.)
 * You seemingly can’t get a 100/100 score without paying for premium. Remember 
   that Google doesn’t know or care if you pay money to Rank Math.
 * Rank Math doesn’t interpret text the way that Google does. Just one example, 
   Google states that they largely ignore punctuation and pluralization in figuring
   out your topic, but RM doesn’t count your keyphrase unless it’s an exact match.
 * No SEO plugin can be one size fits all, but RM tends to make more assumptions
   about your audience and push a more factitious tone than others.
 * Some of the functionality is great, while some is balky. For example, I have 
   to keep resaving to get the SEO score to update. The AI and suggested links were
   not helpful in my case. The 404 monitor didn’t work consistently (stopped working
   after an update months ago and never fixed) so I have to use a separate plugin
   for that.
 * With any SEO plugin you need to interpret the results; simply aiming for the 
   highest score may not optimize your business to your audience. This is especially
   true if you care about dollars and not just quantity of clicks. In my case I 
   need people to spend time on my site and buy something.
