• Simple History is the first plugin I install on every multi-author WordPress site. The free edition already records an impressive spread of events. Eontent edits, media uploads, menu tweaks, option changes, logins (including failures) and actions inside popular plugins like ACF or Redirection.

What matters is how clearly those events are presented. A dashboard widget gives me a quick snapshot, while the full log lets me filter by user or date and drop permalinks straight into a ticket. When a mystery bug appears I scroll back, see that a client activated an experimental plugin three minutes earlier and reproduce the issue in seconds instead of hours. For agencies that hand over admin rights this transparency is priceless: accidents are traceable, blame games disappear and the fix is usually as simple as reverting one change.

Support is equally impressive. The author answers forum threads himself, often the same day they appear, and keeps shipping meaningful updates like stealth mode, WP-CLI commands and password-protected RSS feeds.

Simple History does one job and does it flawlessly and honestly, this kind of audit trail belongs in WordPress core. Five stars.
