a plugin that treats links the same way facebook does?

  • Hi everyone,

Have been searching for quite a while now both on the forum and the plugin section, but no luck. Hope you guys can help out! Here’s what I am looking for:

A WP plugin/widget (in sidebar or page) to easily share interesting articles/news from other websites on my blog. When I add the link, I want the plugin to automatically add the title and a picture/thumbnail (just like what happens when I share a link on facebook/linkedin) and possible the first few lines of the article.

Does such a plugin exist? Please tell me if you know which plugin does this!

    Thanks! Nic

You have to be careful with this, because depending on how you do this, it can amount to intellectual property theft.

However, you can use a “scraper” plugin (which is what Facebook does) to link to their content, or use an rss plugin to link to their rss feed.

Hi Kjodle, sorry for my late reply. Thanks for your help! Of course I won’t use some else’s content as my own, I will always mention the source with a link.

I know now that I need a ‘scraper’ plugin, but haven’t been able to find a good one. Any tips? Thanks!
