I’m was working on my blog and trying out some different themes. However when I activated the theme “suffusion” I got the following error when trying to access the admin panel:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_transient() in /home1/fishlor1/public_html/red1313/wp-content/themes/suffusion/functions.php on line 1180

I’m unable to log in now was well.

I’m also getting the following error on my site:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_the_author_meta() in /home1/fishlor1/public_html/red1313/wp-content/themes/suffusion/functions/actions.php on line 819

I’m gonna guess it’s an issue with the theme but how do I fix it?

  • I’ve seen a few posts here the last couple of days in regards to this theme producing various errors. So I visited the theme’s support forum to see if there was any mention and discovered there was indeed a problem. The author has uploaded a fixed version. You can read about it here.

In the meantime, log in to your site with a FTP client and delete that theme. That will cause WordPress to revert to the Default theme and allow you to log in to the backend.

    Ah it works!
    Thank you so much 😀

    LenK and red1313,
FYI this is not a problem with the theme, but there is one particular server at WP that apparently gives out corrupted copies (not my words, I am just quoting what I was told by the Theme support folks). The very file that you downloaded from the link above is what I submitted to WP and what is served by the different servers, except for the one server that doesn’t.

The fact that Suffusion is updated more often than most other themes maybe why it faces this problem more often. In any case, the moment someone notifies me of a corrupted download, I provide an alternative download. In case of version 3.4.0 I even posted a preemptive message on this forum: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/376337?replies=1

    Sayontan.

Thanks for the additional info sayontan.
