A month's worth of posts deleted (9 posts)

One of my readers just brought it to my attention this morning that my site is back "in April". It appears as though all my posts after April 18th have disappeared. (I usually write one post per week day.) I also noticed that my blogroll is changed back to how it was in mid April- I just updated it about 2 weeks ago. And, even one of my pages (press page) is back how it was in April- I had recently added new press in the month of May.

Anyone know what happened or how to retrieve my old posts?
When I go to my list of posts the month of May isn't even showing up.

Talk to the company that host your site: Maybe they've made a restore due to a crash of some sort?

Saint, that exact thing happened to me but fortunately, I am pretty anal about backing up my databases and I was able to restore the two posts that got dropped. (I don't blog much, which in this case is prolly a good thing.)

You don't happen to be using SurpassHosting, do you? The scenario that RibRapRob points out is the only one that makes any sense.

But, as I mentioned above, if you regularly back up your WP database (which you can do within the WP Dashboard via the WP-Backup plugin) you'll be able to restore it despite your web host's shenanigans.

Actually, if you have been using some sort of feed reader (like Google Reader) to subscribe to your feed (given that you are showing the whole post), that would be much easier to deal with.

    thanks for your help everyone!
Jonimueller, i use BlueHost, i'll reach out to them.
Unfortunately I hadn't backed up my database for a while.

Michael H- are you suggesting to copy cached text and repost? or is there an easier way to use google cache?

    I don't think i've been using a feed reader.

    thank you.

    Bloglines caught it:
It has the 20 of the latest posts public (all the way back to Apr 24), or use Google Cache, like Michael suggested.

and a couple of posts here: (back to the Apr 21st)

The two links I posted included all your "lost" posts.

I have the same issue right now...I can find my old posts on cache search but losing all comments etc sucks! :(
