Hi there, this is just a minor css issue in the BP Search form, to which I do not know where to address. The two top fields, username and birthdate selector are displayed with border radius, only on mobile.
How and where does this occur?

    Hello Carsten,

Unfortunately I’m unable to duplicate that issue. Does that happen with any other form, e.g. the form to edit the user profile?

Hi Andrea, it’s only in the search form, as far as I can see.

Its worth notiching that it is only on the mobile, not in web browser choosing mobile device

Hi again, I just discovered that it only occurs on IOS, not Android.

What happens if you change the order of the fields in your search form? Are always the first two fields affected?

    Hi Andrea
The border-radius follows the fields, not the position

When the field is activated it turns square

I have deactivated all my additional CSS, with same result.

Probably that happens with input fields of type “search”. To confirm that, you could edit the file bps-form-default.php, locate the lines:

    		case 'textbox':
    ?>
    			<input type="search" id=...

    and replace type="search" with type="text".

    Does it change anything?

‘Probably that happens with input fields of type “search”.’

I am not sure what you mean, first field is the fixed User name, and the other is the Birth date selector?

    Sorry if that was confusing!

Could you try the change I suggested? I don’t have access to an iOS device, so I need your help here.

You are on the right track, it made the user name field square, but not the Birthedate selector

Great! To fix the other field, locate the lines:

    		case 'range':
    ?>
    			<input type="search" style=...
    			<span> - </span>
    			<input type="search" style=...

and, again, replace type="search" with type="text".

After you fix your template, copy it to the ‘buddypress/members’ directory in your theme’s root, otherwise it will be overwritten during the next BP Profile Search update.

Hi Andrea, thanks for comming up with a solution so rapidly, I am not able to test this code before tomorrow but I am looking forward to test it.

Will these changes, if the last one works too, be added in the next update, or should I copy it to my child theme?

If yes, should I make a copy of the bps-form-default.php, or will it work in functions.php?

    Regards
    Carsten

    Hi Carsten,

I suggest you keep your custom template in your child theme.

Copy your modified bps-form-default.php file to the buddypress/members directory in your child theme’s root. This way, it will take precedence over the built-in template.

    Thanks, succes!
