• There’s so much going on as a relative newbie to WordPress, that it can be a little overwhelming, but all-in-all it seems very good.

However, I don’t like the way it installs plugins without asking, such as OptinMonster, and it’s really bugs me that there’s a “Redirect Manager” link in the WordPress Tools menu that leads to a premium feature. I have a great redirect plugin already, and it’s doing my OCD in having a superfluous link in the menu I never asked for! At the very least, put it back under the AIO menu, please.

Syed [and his team] at WPBeginner has been an amazing resource for me when learning the fundamentals of WordPress, and I would say 9 times out of 10 has come up with an answer to what I’ve been looking for. I understand the need to monetise WPBeginner and its plugins, but please don’t be so obtrusive and assuming. I have similar complaints about Monster Insights that leaves nags in the menus about completing setup, that you cannot clear until you add more plugins [such as the aforementioned OptinMonster, and UserFeedback] or paid features. As a sufferer of OCD, these nags and menu highlights are extremely distracting.

A 4-star from me, because it all [as far as I can tell] works well, but there are nags and niggles.

    Hi @supakwai,

Thank you for leaving us a review.

I’m sorry for the issue you experienced with the installing of additional plugins.

The plugins you mentioned are preselected and will be installed unless they are deselected during the Setup Wizard in All in One SEO.

There’s an option in our Setup Wizard where we have preselected features based on your site category selected in the Setup Wizard. You have the option to deactivate the additional conversion or analytics plugins, as seen here:

    https://a.supportally.com/i/dsDH7Q

Again, I’m sorry for the confusion, and I can assure you that they are installed only if you’ve left those options enabled (based on your consent) in the Setup Wizard.

If you don’t require these plugins, then you can safely deactivate and delete them, and they will not be installed or activated again unless you run our Setup Wizard again and select the options mentioned above.

Regarding the Redirect Manager link in the WordPress Tools menu, I’ll pass this feedback on to our Development team to look into enabling that to be removed when using the free plugin.
