If you have the “national” validation selected for phone number and set to Nigeria than you don’t really need to input the +234 country code but just the actual phone number starting from 901.
If you put invalid number it will validate it. For example, if I set “national” validation and put 9014567890 it validates but 2314567890 does not.

What am trying to say is that forminator does not sup numbers with 0901 in Nigeria..
We don’t use 901 In Nigeria, we use 0901..we can’t do with the 0..the number would be invalid.

It doesn’t work on internet contacts even tho I switch to Nigeria. You can try it yourself.

Could you please confirm whether it works fine if you try the phone number as follows?

Seems like it only works in the above format when tested. The phone number other than the above format gives a validation error.
We are already working on an improvement where the country code works out of the box, however, could you please confirm the same? To ensure if there are any other instances where you notice issues.

It works well on other phone numbers, including the one you sent.
It doesn’t work mostly on “0901” numbers and most Nigerian numbers are made from “0901”

Let me recap this: there are two types of phone field validation options: “national” and “international”
1. if you select “international” then you can select “Nigeria” as default country;
Field requires the country code then and it will accept both
+23409012991381
and
+23409012991381
but not
09012991381
and not
9012991381
This is something that should be improved in future but I don’t have ETA and I’m afraid I don’t have any “workaround code” for it.
2. if you select “national” then you select “Nigeria” as country (only country allowed).
Field will accept all following formats:
+23409012991381
+2349012991381
09012991381
9012991381
so with and without contry code and with and without leading 0. But that’s if “national” (not “international”) validation is selected. If your form is for Nigerian users only then this would be the recommended setting as it accepts all these four number formats.
Note though: if it is set to “national” (not international) and still doesn’t accept all these formats then it means there’s something interfering and it’s specific to teh site.
In such case, please export the form from the site and share it with us so we could test it. You can put form’s export code on pastebing.com or your GoogleDrive/Dropbox/or similar service and post direct link to it here in response.
We’ll be able to import it, check settings and test and that would, hopefully, help us fix the issue for you.
