I’ve used the paid version of this plugin for about 5 years on multiple websites. It is the best choice if you want to keep your users’ info in one ecosystem (WordPress) and send all of your emails from your website. These are valuable things to be able to do. Overall it is a very robust tool and has quite a lot of options for extending it’s capabilities. There is a vast database of documentation to help you along installing and using it and I have had little reason to contact support. It’s got all the bells and whistles you need to manage a robust mailing list.

The areas where this plugin falls short is UX design and it’s email designer. Both are incredibly behind the times in mass mailing tools. The back-end of managing lists and subscribers is pretty clunky and dated, but usable. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the email designer: It’s really behind the times in both design capability (There’s no reason there should be a poorly executed plugin for multi-column layout, it should be a standard feature and not fields on a plugin. And, background images aren’t supported even though they are standard in marketing email. (There are requests for this feature but the developer has shot them down) ) and also usability. It’s also very buggy. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve spent a long time writing an email and suddenly it’s wiped out for unknown reasons or adding a block from the list of components wipes out the draft altogether. It really needs an autosave.

Overall it’s a good usable plugin if it’s important to you to keep all of your marketing work under the roof of your website, just be sure to hit that save button often if you’re writing an involved email.
