I’ve been looking for a good plugin that acts like a user-customizable social site like myspace or youtube. Allowing users to register/login, create their own page, link with other pages/groups, set their own privacy, do minor layouts to their own page, and add youtube clips, mp3s, images, and webpage links – all from the frontend? Ya, probably a tall order but even if i can find several to do the job of one, that would be good. Any suggestions?

Have you looked at BuddyPress? It’s a self-hosted and WordPress-powered
    social network plugin – http://buddypress.org/

Thanks! Ya that’s the ultimate way to go. I guess I should explain a step back. My first step is to create a page where people can add or remove mp3, youtube links, and text while logged in on the front end. And make it slick and easy. I think of drag and drop or a drop box system. Would then like the added content to be sortable by who added it, date, meta, etc, and removed easily. If I can get this far, then the next step is adding it to a registration/group area which should be simple. Making it so anyone can register to a blank page, add their content, and link their content to a group page where all linked content is visible. Any thoughts?
