A forum as an extension

  • Hi All,

I’m not a developer; therefore, please excuse my lack of technical knowledge.

I am about to set up a new blog and have chosen a theme for it, which will get customised by a developer. However, I also want to set up forum/community to run alongside the blog.

Now, will I still be able to use my customised theme if I run BuddyPress for the forum?

In an ideal world, I want somebody to land onto the blog and access the forum via a link in the site-wide navigation i.e. http://www.bikeradar.com/ they have the exact set up I’m looking for, but their site is based on a Drupal set up.

    Many Thanks,

  • Heya numetrick,

Shouldn’t take much more that some time and effort on the part of your designer. Are they cool with creating themes for WordPress and/or BuddyPress?

Here’s a good link to adapting the Default Twenty Eleven theme to work with the BuddyPress install.

Should give them a good place to start for customizing your new theme to work perfectly with BP.

    Cheers! :)
