A few questions on the Espied theme

I’m currently building a new site (Espied theme) and I want to know how to make the width of usable area of my tex (and photos later) larger. The page is http://geek.nytevisionsphoto.com/wordpress/ and you can see that the text doesn’t take up a good deal of the available space. Is there a way to change this with custom CSS?

My next question is, is there a way to change the color used when projects are moused-over on the main page (geek.nytevisionsphoto.com) ? I would like to do that and even change the word ‘view’ that is shown to something another word if possible.

Lastly, I’d also like to change the color that is shown when I mouse over and click the top right link that pulls out the menu and connect information.
